The world-class stallion Blue Hors Zack began his career as the champion stallion at the KWPN Stallion Licensing at the age of three, where he was purchased by Blue Hors. Shortly afterwards, he was approved in Danish Warmblood and was, from a very young age, extensively used—particularly in Danish and German breeding. In sport, Zack has been a stallion in constant development. He only made his Grand Prix debut at the age of 12, and he continues to progress.
Zack’s sire, Rousseau, won his performance test in dressage in Ermelo. In 2002, he also won the Pavo Cup in the Netherlands with the highest score ever achieved at that time. Both guest riders awarded him a score of 10.0. As a 5-year-old, he first won the stallion class in ’s-Hertogenbosch, followed by the silver medal at the World Championships for Young Horses in Verden.
Zack is the mare Orona’s second foal. Her first offspring, by the Florestan son Neostan, won Z-level (M-dressage) in the Netherlands as a 6-year-old. Orona herself has placings in M-dressage and completed an IBOP mare performance test with an excellent result. She is by the Grand Prix stallion Jazz, who, in addition to being one of the most widely used Dutch breeding stallions, also competed at the highest international level. Moreover, Jazz has for many years ranked among the very top of the WBFSH list of dressage stallions.
“He has been an incredibly strong and durable horse, who has hardly ever been ill or injured, and every single day he is super eager and motivated to work—even the day after a big show, when he is supposed to have a day off.”
– Daniel Bachmann Andersen, former rider of Blue Hors Zack
Zack made his international Grand Prix debut at the age of 13, from which point he and Daniel’s journey to the world elite took off like a comet, quickly becoming part of the Danish national team. They represented Denmark at the 2018 WEG in Tryon, finishing as the best Danish combination in the Grand Prix with a 10th place. This was followed by victories in World Cup qualifiers in Herning and ’s-Hertogenbosch, a 7th place at the 2018 World Cup Final in Paris, and a 4th place at the 2019 World Cup Final in Gothenburg.
At the Danish Dressage Championships, the pair finished 8th in 2018 and went on to win the national championship title in 2019. They achieved international victories and top placings in Amsterdam, Neumünster, Paris, Uggerhalne, Aachen, Hagen, Darmstadt, Salzburg, and more. In 2019, they won the CDIO5* Grand Prix Freestyle in Falsterbo with over 85%, and at the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam, they placed 7th individually with 83.711% in the Grand Prix Freestyle. Zack closed the FEI competition year 2019 ranked 6th on the world dressage rankings, making him the highest-ranked stallion in dressage sport worldwide.
Ranked 10th on the FEI World Dressage Rankings in 2020.
