It was a great sporting day at Stutteri Ask, as Denmark secured victory in the Longines EEF Series Nations Cup for the second year in a row. In front of an enthusiastic home crowd in Martofte, the Danish team delivered a strong performance and made history with another win on home soil.
The Nations Cup was decided after an intense and exciting competition, where nothing was certain until the final rider had crossed the finish line. Denmark started strongly and was in the lead after the first round, but both Sweden and Belgium kept the pressure on the Danish team until the very end.
As Denmark’s final rider, Andreas Schou entered the arena with Darc de Lux. The task was clear: a clear round would secure the Danish victory. Under great pressure, Andreas Schou and Darc de Lux delivered a confident and convincing round, sparking great cheers from the crowd and securing Denmark another Nations Cup win on Danish soil.
The Danish team consisted of Zascha Nygaard with Cornets Esmeray PS, Laura Baaring Kjærgaard with Guppie VDL, Søren Møller Rohde with Evolution Ask, and Andreas Schou with Darc de Lux. Zascha Nygaard and Andreas Schou both delivered double clear rounds, while Søren Møller Rohde and Evolution Ask also contributed with an excellent performance and just one time penalty in the second round.
For Stutteri Ask and Blue Hors, the victory was a very special moment. Not only was the Nations Cup once again held on Danish soil, but the Danish team also managed to repeat last year’s triumph in front of the home crowd. It underlines both the strength of Danish showjumping and the importance of being able to bring together international riders, horses, spectators and volunteers for a sporting experience at the highest level.
The course offered technical challenges, and the time allowed proved decisive for several combinations. Clear rounds were far from guaranteed, making the Danish performance even more impressive. Sweden finished second after a strong second round, while Belgium took third place.
At Stutteri Ask and Blue Hors, we are proud to provide the setting for an international event where sport, spectators and community come together. A big thank you goes to the riders, officials, partners, spectators and the many volunteers who all helped create an unforgettable day in Martofte.
With the victory in the Longines EEF Series Nations Cup, Denmark once again showed that the team belongs among the strongest nations in the series. At the same time, it was another day where Stutteri Ask provided the setting for a memorable moment in Danish equestrian sport.
